Gigas and his disciple, the Flame Saint, arrive in Japan, and plots to steal the Gold Cloth helmet since the Bronze Saints are gone. They set fire to the Kido mansion to lure out the Saints. Tatsumi takes the bait and is forced to reveal the location of the helmet. Shun dons his Cloth and challenges the Flame Saint, however, he is no match for him. Just as the battle seems to be lost, Phoenix Ikki appears from the flames, alive and well, now fighting on the side of justice. Ikki easily kills the Flame Saint, while Gigas runs away...
